Million Dollar Fish Arnhem Land

Home to the famous Barramundi, the Top End is regarded as one of Australia's top fishing destinations. The Million Dollar Fish competition is in its 9th season. Running from October to March, this competition is open to all levels, from first-time fishermen to the most experienced anglers. Land-based or heading out in a boat, every fisho has a chance.

What is the Million Dollar Fish? Barramundi are tagged and released in the prominent NT fishing locations of Arnhem Land, Darwin, Kakadu, Katherine and the Tiwi Islands. Each tag represents a prize amount. This season, there are 12 x $1 million & 99 x $10K tagged barramundi—another great reason to get fishing in the Top End.

Arnhem Land is a remote region in the Northern Territory, is often hailed as the ultimate destination for barramundi fishing. With a permit required to fish here, the barramundi population remains healthy and abundant. 

The Cobourg Coastal Camp is situated in Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, near the most northerly tip of the Northern Territory (Cobourg Peninsula). Safari style tents are nestled amongst native bush, overlooking Port Essington. We have a full commerical kitchen and have an excellent crew to take care of things. Along with our camp hosts & chef, our excellent guides/skippers are all ready to make your fishing trip is a successful one.

Operated as a designated fishing camp from April to May, and September through to November, our all-inclusive private fishing charters cater up to 12 people at a time. 

While Barra fishing will be a high priority for most keen anglers, there is plenty of blue water action with GT's, Spanish mackerel, Jew Fish and mud crabbing all part of the package when you fish with us. (Just to name a few)

Whille there are only a few months left to fish in this Million Dollar Fish season, it is definitley time to start thinking ahead for the next season. We have plenty of spots available in October and November 2024.
